The middle layer is softer and more flexible, ensuring excellent shock absorption during falls. The top and bottom layers are firmer and more durable, helping the mat maintain its shape, prevent sagging, and provide excellent support for stances and dynamic movements. This construction is especially ideal for sports such as judo, aikido, jiu-jitsu, as well as any environment where safety and comfort during movement are important.
Who are the mats suitable for:
🥋 Training spaces for karate, judo, aikido, taekwondo, boxing
Tatami floors are an essential part of martial arts. They are used as shock-absorbing surfaces in dojos, gyms, or sports halls. In judo and aikido, they soften falls and rolls, while in taekwondo or karate they provide a safe surface for kicks, stances, and quick movements. Their color-coded design allows competition zones and boundaries to be created according to federation rules.
🏋️ Sports clubs, gyms, and home gyms
In clubs, tatami mats serve as a durable, easy-to-maintain, and flexible floor for various types of movement – from fitness and cross-training to stretching or yoga areas. At home, you can assemble a temporary training corner that can be easily dismantled and stored after exercise. They ensure stability underfoot and protect the floor from damage.
🏫 Schools, kindergartens, and kids’s playrooms
In educational facilities, tatami mats are used as safe surfaces for games, physical activities, and relaxation. In kindergartens, teachers set them up as play zones where kids can roll, build, or read without risk of injury. In schools, they serve as temporary gym flooring, underlay for equipment, or even as quiet areas for rest. The tatami puzzle system allows for quick setup and storage.
🧘 Play, therapeutic, and relaxation zones
In therapy centers, sensory rooms, or rehabilitation facilities, tatami mats are used as soft, hygienic flooring for various activities – from positioning clients and fine motor games to physiotherapy exercises. They are also used in meditation or relaxation rooms as a pleasant insulating layer. In play areas or festivals, they provide mobile “soft flooring” for both kids and adults.
